The idea
Viridian Wine Co. is an importer built on the producer's side of the table, carrying family-grown wines of place to America with their stories intact. Producers are partners in the company, and their name stays above ours on every surface.
Most import economics were designed around the importer. Ours are designed around the wine: what it costs to grow, what it should cost in the market, and what it takes for the people behind it to keep making it.
The model
A modern import platform, run lean on purpose, so the value in every case stays with the wine and the people who made it.
First
Lean by design. No legacy overhead, no layers that add cost without adding value. The result is an aggressively competitive rate model: the producer keeps more of every case without asking the market to pay for it.
Second
Priced for the market. Every program is built backward from the price to the retailer, then defended. What a leaner importer saves goes into the wine's success in its markets, not into our margin.
Third
The producer keeps the wheel. Transparent, fee-based economics in place of the traditional resale spread. Proceeds are remitted promptly, reporting is open, and the brand always remains the producer's.
Fourth
Compliance, carried. Federal importer permitting, state-by-state licensing and filings, and logistics coordination are ours to run, so the estate can stay in the vineyard and the distributor can stay with their accounts.
